Today was the day. The vet came to our house and Bastian went very peacefully in my arms.

I took picture of the boys with Bastian tonight. I finally got Bassie to look at the camera, too! Thanks, buddy!!!

Today was pinewood derby day. The boys won their first race, but failed to get in the finals -- thus the sad look on Connor's face.

Day 21 of 365

This is my oldest -- Bastian -- and I have had him since he was 8 weeks old. He is now almost 15 years old. Yesterday I made the difficult decision to put him to sleep. Our wonderful vet will be coming to our house on Tuesday. I tried to get some really good pictures of him today, but he never looked at the camera. Everytime I put the camera up to my face, he looked down! He hates to have his picture taken! Tuesday is also the two year anniversary of my mom passing away. It's comforting to know that they will be together on Tuesday. I'm sure mom will be taking Bastian for very long walks!

Over the weekend, I was cleaning out my scrapbooking room and found this project that I started FIVE years ago!!!! The background and Mickey was done, but nothing else. I made it my mission to finish it this week. Mission accomplished today!!!!

The boys were able to finish up their pinewood derby cars tonight. Craig let the boys paint their cars whatever color they wanted -- they had fun doing it!

Ever since we got the new van, the boys insist on watching movies all the time. They get to relax and I get some quiet time! No more fighting in the van!

The boys didn't have school today and my husband took the day off, so we had a wonderful relaxing day. The boys worked on their pinewood derby cars. Grant didn't like the noise, so he put these on.

Day 16 of 365

On Sundays, I only cook one big meal after we get home from church. It's usually popcorn for dinner and the boys are pros at making it. Here is Grant cooking his Sunday evening meal -- please note, we have a "popcorn" button on the microwave (so all they have to do it press the button) and we are always there to supervise!!! :-)

The little tree outside is starting to have some buds on it. With is very weird considering we are covered with snow and it's below freezing out!

The boys got their report cards today. We are so very proud of them!!! All A's!!!

I took a picture of them with their report cards, but since their names and the name of the school is very visible on it -- I cropped it down so I have something to post.

I'm going into my 3rd straight year of doing a Project 365 and usually I have an idea of what picture I will take at some point. Today wasn't one of those days. I pulled out the January 2009 "Creating Keepsakes" magazine to give me some ideas of what to do in the future!

On a cold winter day, our thoughts turn toward Disney and our vacation in June! Grant was a real trooper to have his picture taken today! :-)

We had a ton of snow today, but the boys still had school. It was a total bummer to them (and me!) Our cocker spaniel, Bailey, loves the snow and I wanted to get a shot of him running around. So, armed with my camera and the big ol' 70-200 lens, I was ready to capture Bailey at his best! Instead, he stood there and barked at me the whole time! I think he was afraid of the camera!

As a mom of two boys, I am surrounded by Legos. The boys have a Lego table in the basement and they make creations over and over and over! It's really neat to see what they come up with. Here is Connor with his latest creation- see the skeleton? Connor named him "Bob!" LOL

All the Christmas decorations have been put away except the one on front door. My hubby, who is a die-hard Steelers wanted to keep this one up until the playoffs were over. I think he believes that this will bring the Steelers good luck!

We got a light dusting of snow today. It's wasn't enough to make driving bad, but enough to cover the ground!

When I let the dogs out this morning, I saw this big chunk of ice beside our fence. My husband cleaned out his work cart yesterday and this is what was in it. It was odd looking at a huge chunk of ice on somewhat green grass.

Technically I took this picture at 11:00 last night, but I'm going to use it for todays POTD. When I checked on the boys last night, Connor was sleeping like this. He has done this since he's been born. I can't believe that he is 7 years old -- children really do grow up fast!

The sun is shining so brightly today. Unfortunately it's 21 degrees here and freezing -- love central IL weather! Not! Friday it was 60, today 21, tomorrow 40 and snow coming in next week.

Bailey and I are patiently waiting for it to be warm enough for a walk.

Ok, technically this photo stinks. The lighting was bad in the bathroom/laundry room, but it was the only room with a full length mirror. As with many Americans, my goal this year to shed some much needed weight. We are heading to FL in June, so I would love to look good for it. So, here I am in all my glory! I figure if I posted this pic on my blog, I would be motivated to stick to my diet and post more pics of me a little thinner! I started the Biggest Loser Wii game today and I'm already hating the sound of Jillian's voice. My weight today was 205 -- yikes!!! Can't believe that I just posted that! Wish me luck!!!

My minister issued a challenge to us today. The challenge is for us the read the Bible for the next 6 weeks (Mon-Fri). I'm very excited to get started on this tomorrow!

Day 1 of 365

Every year on January 1st, I always take a picture of Grant and Connor. It's a tradition that the boys remember every year and they are usually very cooperative! I had great idea, but they would cooperate with me. So this is what I ended up with...

1/2 hour after this picture was taken, Grant (the one with glasses) spiked a high fever and was down for the count. He is finally sleeping now, but for awhile he couldn't get warm and I piled up 6 blankets on him. Praying that this passes quickly and no one else gets it!
